She has worked in the publishing industry for more than 17 years and has a passion for effectively facilitating needed changes and strategies for the constantly changing publishing landscape. An early adopter working within the constraints of a traditional publishing environment, Jenn has been responsible for developing, facilitating, and implementing the company’s overall digital content strategy. She has extensive knowledge and experience in all facets of print and eBook production; overseeing the utilization of current technology in the development of new product lines while maintaining cost effectiveness. Jenn has developed many long-term and successful relationships with vendor partners in the US and overseas.
Carter Holliday is currently the Director of Content Acquisition at Ingram Content Group Inc. A veteran professional with over sixteen years experience in the print, book manufacturing and content distribution industries, Mr. Holliday joined Lightning Source in 2005 and has his office in Ashaway, RI. With a strong background in all aspects of book manufacturing, Carter has held positions with Royal Book Manufacturing and The Maple-Vail Book Manufacturing Company prior to joining Ingram. As a result of publishing industry changes and changes within Ingram/Lightning Source, Mr. Holliday's sales responsibilities grew to include the e-book sales and distribution product offerings. Having grown up in Rhode Island and on the south shore of Boston, Carter is a graduate of Hobart College. Mr. Holliday is an active outdoorsman and if not at his desk or with customers can usually be found out on the water.
Phil Knight serves as the Director of Sales at Color House Graphics, Inc., a book manufacturing company that focuses on print and digital books. SESSION: Moving to EPUB 3
It's been a year since the IDPF approved EPUB 3 as a Recommended Specification, but most eBooks released since then are ignoring it in favor of the older EPUB 2.01 spec. Join Anne-Marie Concepcion as she reviews the major features of this new spec, and explores options for publishers to move their list to EPUB 3 format while still supporting EPUB 2-only devices and software.
Anne-Marie "Her Geekness" Concepción owns Chicago-based Seneca Design & Training, a cross-media publication design and production studio. She's a certified independent trainer and expert in Adobe InDesign and InCopy, and has helped hundreds of publishers learn how to create flowable and fixed EPUB files from InDesign since version CS4. In addition to delivering on-site training, webinars, and conference seminars on EPUB and eBook publishing topics, Anne-Marie is also the author of "InDesign to EPUB, Kindle, and iPad," one of many video tutorial series she's done for lynda.com, and is the co-producer of InDesignSecrets.com, EPUBSecrets.com, and the Print + ePublishing Conference (pepconference.com).
