Don Jarka

Don Jarka served as the VP of Finance for Urban Ministries, Inc. for the last four years, where he has spent most of his time focused on leading a reorganized team in a service oriented Finance Department in a culture of excellence. Much attention was made on getting things that affect the customers and vendors done right, including improved customer account reconciliation, effective payment policies, improved cash management, and putting the right people in their particular areas of giftedness. For the 7+ years prior to coming to Urban Ministries, Don was a Divisional Controller for the Mold-Tech Division of Standex International Corp., where he was responsible for the finances of 8 domestic locations and 1 international location. Prior to that Don held positions in finance and operations at Amwell, Noma International, Christianity Today, and International Mineral & Chemical. Don was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and his MBA in Management from Northern Illinois University. Don is married 24 years to Tammie and has two sons, Brad and Adam. They reside in Geneva, IL.
