As Director of Digital Text for Amazon.com, Jeff Steele heads business development working with publishing houses worldwide for Amazon’s digital text initiatives including Search Inside the Book, e-books, and the recently announced Amazon Upgrade and Pages. Steele joined Amazon in 2006 after 10 years with Microsoft Corporation where his last role was as Regional Director for MSN, South Pacific – based in Sydney, Australia. In addition to approximately 10 years of New Media business development with Microsoft Corporation domestically and overseas, Steele has also worked for IBM as a telecommunications specialist and for UCCEL/Computer Associates as a Systems Engineer and Product Training specialist. He began his career as a computer operator for a Boulder, Colorado construction firm while attending college at the University of Colorado at Boulder where he earned a B.S. in Finance.
