Mr. Weiner is responsible for rightsholder relations and licensing of all of Copyright Clearance Center’s products and services which are currently implemented in more than 800 universities and 10,000+ U.S. businesses, including many of their subsidiaries worldwide. The aim of those products and services is to facilitate Users’ instant and lawful access to the reuse of copyrighted works while helping creators and publishers to increase revenue from their assets and protect their copyrights.

Mr. Weiner is a frequent guest speaker at corporate events and conferences both domestically and internationally. He has spoken at the Intellectual Property Law Association (IPLA), the American Bar Association (ABA), the Special Libraries Association (SLA), International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations (IFRRO), the Frankfurt Book Fair, and the London Online Conference to name a few. He has also published articles on the digital environment’s effect upon copyright and has been quoted on the subject in several publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Publisher’s Weekly.

Prior to joining CCC in 1991, Mr. Weiner had more than 20 years experience in software systems engineering, sales, and management of transaction processing and networked systems environments at such global corporations as Xerox Computer Systems, Digital Equipment Corporation and as senior vice president of a networking company which was acquired by Verizon.

Mr. Weiner attended the University of Texas and Farleigh Dickinson University from which he holds Bachelor of Science in Economics and MBA degrees. He is a member of the U.S. Copyright Society and the Software & Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) “Content” and “Government Affairs” committees.
