For the last 10 years Carl Jeffrey Wright has been CEO and principal of the largest independent African American religious media firm, UMI (Urban Ministries, Inc.). UMI has been the leader in independent (non-denominationally affiliated) urban Christian and positive media content for over 35 years. The company publishes resources on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis for 11 major denominations. Jeff Wright’s personal background includes over 15 years in the Fortune 50 companies Johnson & Johnson and Bristol-Myers Squibb, where his last position was Vice President Corporate Development for its consumer businesses. Jeff is a minister, a lawyer, a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. He has an MBA in finance from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and graduated with honors from Fisk University. Jeff serves on the board of Americans United for Life, The Christian Film and Television Commission, Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, Fuller Theological Seminary, and Urban Outreach Foundation.
