Speaker Bio:
With over twenty years of public relations experience to her credit, Jana Ford Muntsinger now focuses her professional efforts on one goal: introducing inspirational authors to general market and religious media. As President of McClure Muntsinger Public Relations (MMPR) Muntsinger has garnered national interviews for her clients on programs such as “The Today Show,” “CNN’s American Morning,” “Hannity & Colmes” and “The Diane Rehm Show.” She has also coordinated coverage for numerous clients in Publishers Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, Christianity Today and other national publications.
As half of MMPR, Muntsinger has managed publicity and marketing campaigns for a wide variety of clients, including Tyndale Kids, The Parable Group, Thomas Nelson, WaterBrook Press, Zondervan Publishing House, W Publishing, Loyola Press, and Multnomah Publishers. In addition to MMPR campaigns, Muntsinger volunteered her services to the PR Committee for Billy Graham’s Crusade for Middle Tennessee, held in Nashville, TN (June 2000). She also shares her expertise with other literary publicists via training venues such as the 2001 Publicity Workshop (with Guthrie Communications) and ECPA’s Publishing University (2004).
Prior to forming MMPR, Muntsinger spent more than seven years at one of the top religious publishing houses, Word Publishing (now W Publishing Group, a division of Thomas Nelson, Inc.), forming and managing strategic publicity campaigns for best-selling authors. Muntsinger spent more than five years as a director at Word—first as director of public relations and then as director of publicity projects. During her years at Word, Muntsinger orchestrated her first of many national author tours which helped authors increase media exposure and secure national bestseller positioning.
Muntsinger started in publicity in Washington, DC, specializing in general market media. Muntsinger was the Assistant Director of Public Relations for the American Cancer Society, Washington, DC. She also worked as an account executive for the international publicity firm, Hill & Knowlton, (Washington, DC) and as an on-air television reporter for an NBC television affiliate in Texas. An honor graduate of Baylor University, Muntsinger earned degrees in journalism and marketing. She was named Outstanding Senior in Public Relations.
Currently, Muntsinger resides in outside of Houston in Spring, Texas, with her husband David and three children, Jack, Ford and Kate.
