Congress May Amend Lead-Testing Requirements
A new bill that could ease product safety requirements for children’s books is beginning to make its way through Congress. The Enhancing CPSC Authority & Discretion Act of 2011 (ECADA) would amend a 2008 law that required testing and certification for low levels of lead in children’s products (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, or CPSIA). Please use this discussion forum to comment on the Legal Update on this topic from May 17, 2011.
