Understanding the ECPA Publishers Legal Hotline Service

Enrollment in the ECPA Publishers Legal Hotline Service is available to ECPA members in the U.S. only.

Organizations enrolling in this service will be given credits to use during the year as questions arise. Each credit entitles the subscribing organization to an answer to a question requiring up to one half hour of time to address and resolve. An organization may pose a question requiring up to one hour of time to address, and will be charged two credits for such a question.

The hotline will receive questions via email or a dedicated voice mail line. Questions will receive a response the same business day if possible or latest the following business day, with the exception of limited office closures communicated in advance via email to subscribers. Matters that require research or specialized expertise from the national affiliate network will receive an acknowledgment and an estimated response time.

To enroll in this valuable service, please complete the online application. Along with the application you will download the Terms of Engagement for this service. Upon completion of the enrollment process (which includes application approval, receipt of signed Terms of Engagement and payment), you will receive both email and postal mail notification of services and benefits.
