The Ministry Division of Six & Geving is pleased to be working with the ECPA membership to provide The Media Liability Insurance Program. Through Chubb Insurance Company, we were able to negotiate the best rates and customize the media coverage specifically for ECPA publishers. This insurance program covers major risk areas in the emerging media market such as Media, Cyber Technology and Professional Publishing Liability coverage. "We have a simple mission within our publishing insurance partnership," says Randy Geving of the Ministry Division of Six & Geving Insurance. "This program exists to serve Christian publishers by providing dependable insurance and risk management services."

"The law holds publishers independently liable for content published. Given the significant expense involved in defending even a bogus claim of infringement or libel, every publisher is wise to carry media insurance at an appropriate level of coverage. The policy that the Six & Geving team have negotiated includes broad coverage for print and electronic media as well as in-house advertising material, leaves settlement decisions in the hands of the publisher, and pays defense costs on a current basis. These are valuable components of a media policy," says Brian Flagler of Flagler Law Group and provider of ECPA's Legal Hotline Services. One of the unique elements of the program is the synergy with the ECPA's Legal Hotline Services, an ECPA program that helps subscribing publishers avoid claims of libel, invasion of privacy, copyright, or trademark infringement. If the publishers join the ECPA Legal Hotline Service then they can save even more on their insurance premiums with the Media Liability Program.
