Responsibilities

To supervise all publicity activities for Moody Publishers’ products, authors, and company as a whole through traditional media channels.

Essential Functions

  • Plan and execute all publicity goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics for media relations and book marketing. This includes planning and directing campaigns and budgets for new titles in coordination with the sales and marketing managers. Plans will include all forms of media, public appearances, editorial use of book excerpts and articles, and so on.
  • Hire and manage publicity staff and publicity firms that will service our campaigns for new titles in order to secure author placement in traditional and new media outlets. Provide an evaluation that shows the effectiveness of the agency’s campaign: how many interviews were scheduled, reviews posted, article published.
  • Identify authors who have the potential to expand their platform and provide ideas for growth: coaching them for media events; how to connect and interact with readers through blogs and websites; how to pursue church and community speaking events; create key messages that can become published articles or postings on highly viewed websites.
  • Manage all publicity activities required for conventions and trade shows, including ICRS, NRB, ECPA, BEA, etc.
  • Schedule monthly book mailings for media campaigns and author influencer lists.
  • Manage publicity budget for maximum marketplace impact.
  • Perform related and special duties as assigned.

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers.  The noise level is usually low to moderate.  This position works 38.75 hours per week from Monday through Friday.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.  Travel is primarily during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
