The Manager, Book Marketing, coordinates the research, planning, execution, and results tracking of all sales and marketing strategies and tactics necessary to ensure our products are discovered and purchased. This position serves on the Sales & Markerting (S&M) Team, leads the Consumer S&M Group, and (together with the Acquisitions Team) owns the responsibility to achieve title sales goals and top and bottom line revenue goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the planning and execution of S&M plans to drive discoverability and sales of Moody Publishers titles and authors. This will be achieved through ongoing collaboration with Acquisitions and the S&M teams to develop, implement, and measure tactical plans ensuring frontlist titles reach their intended audiences and profitably attain 20,000 units in the first three years. Such plans may include sales channel tactics, author websites and landing pages, direct mail, digital and social media communications, advertising, publicity, conferences, conventions, and so on.
  • Actively participate in weekly “product approval” and “launch and assessment” meetings to coordinate planning and guarantee execution of plans. Utilize agile marketing tactics – assess, test, measure, refine – to insure that the right product is reaching the right audience at the right time.
  • Manage the Consumer S&M Group (includes Publicity and Conferences).
  • Understand existing and develop new access points to audience networks and leaders. Support Acquisition Editor’s duties by sharing market trends and reader insights.
  • Assist in budget planning and manage all spending for the Consumer S&M Group.
  • Ensure that all necessary metadata is available in PPM before scheduled due dates.
  • Ensure that Channel Specialists have all necessary support materials to sell into channels.
  • Perform related and special duties as assigned.
