HarperCollins Christian Publishing is in search of a Marketing Manager (Bilingual) for their Spanish division. The Spanish Bibles division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing is in need of a Marketing Manager responsible for promoting Spanish Bibles. The Marketing Manager, under the direct supervision of the Associate Publisher, develops marketing campaigns, manages marketing budgets, implements media buys, and provides post campaign analysis for assigned Spanish Bibles. The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing various projects simultaneously and works with various departments and cross-functional teams to maximize the marketing ROI.



The primary responsibilities of the Marketing Manager (Bilingual) include but are not limited to: 


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage marketing campaigns and brand promotions for Spanish Bibles
  • Manage marketing budgets for assigned products, brands, and projects
  • Work with the Associate Publisher to develop messaging, themes, and ad concepts for new and backlist products
  • Manage and coordinate with Spanish Publicity and PR campaigns for assigned titles
  • Develop and implement social media strategies for products, brands, and campaigns
  • Manage advertising, promotions, and tracking schedules for marketing campaigns (including events, print, radio, TV, digital, and mobile)
  • Analyze promotions campaigns results by tracking performance of individual campaign elements in order to make recommendations for adjustements and improvements to maximize marketing ROI
  • Analyze, promote and maintain the email database used for promoting and implementing email-based marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with editorial teams in developing product copy and descriptions for use in catalogs, sales sheets and other collateral materials, focusing on consumer needs-based messaging
  • Provide marketing copywriting for products, packaging, marketing collateral, and radio and video scripts
  • Manage print and digital catalog development for publishing group as well as support customer and partner catalogs.
  • Create presentation, marketing, and sales tools for both the sales staff and distributors; present new products and marketing campaigns as required
  • Analyze backlist product trends to identify growth opportunities within existing titles as well as new product opportunities
  • Analyze and monitor competitor products for new product opportunities and trends
  • Negotiate advertising and promotions placements with media groups
  • Assign and manage vendor relationships including service contracts, media buys, and invoices
  • Work with Sales Team to help increase sales of Spanish Bibles
  • Working with corporate research team, manage product, cover, and title research programs
  • Manage pre-and post-show planning for conferences, tradeshows, and events as assigned
  • Travel for presentations and launching events, conferences, and tradeshows, on a pre-planned basis


Desired candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, education and skills: 


Knowledge/Work Experience:

  • 5+ years marketing related experience. Minimum of 2 years’ experience related to Bible marketing and/or marketing Bible Study Resources strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the Bible, different Bible translations, church denominations, major Christian ministries, and Spanish Christian publishing preferred
  • Experience in developing and running marketing and PR campaigns for Christian Bibles or Christian Resources across multiple advertising and sales channels strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Spanish Christian retail market preferred


  • 4-year degree in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, design, or marketing-related field.



Industry Knowledge:

  • Clear understanding of the Christian publishing industry, editorial practices, and publishing operations preferred


  • Proficient and fluent in Spanish and English (written and oral)
  • Able to manage multiple projects and work with multiple teams including agencies, designers, publicity firms, and sales
  • Ability to negotiate and implement media buys
  • Comfortable presenting to groups and large audiences
  • Extremely detail oriented and experienced in multi-tasking in the management of all aspects of marketing
  • Proficient with MSOffice and Mac applications, especially PowerPoint
