The ECPA bestsellers lists for April are in, based on POS sales data for March compiled by NPD BookScan, and a new book from a familiar media personality sits at the top. Kathy Lee Gifford debuts at #1 on the Top 50 bestsellers list with The Rock, The Road, and the Rabbi (Thomas Nelson). Gifford has become increasingly outspoken about her faith in recent months, and her love for Jesus and Scripture, guided by Messianic Rabbi Jason Sobel, is on full display in this book. Clearly her public spiritual journey resonates with the reading public.

Four other new releases appear in the Top 10 overall. Box of Butterflies by actress and producer Roma Downey (Howard Books) is #4; There Is More by Hillsong Church founder Brian Houston (WaterBrook) is #5; Joel Rosenberg’s latest political thriller, The Kremlin Conspiracy (Tyndale) follows at #6; and Embraced (Thomas Nelson), a new devotional by Proverbs 31 Ministries founder Lisa TerKeurst, is at #10, right behind her bestselling book Uninvited.

The rest of the Top 50 reveals a trio of new releases from B&H Publishing, including Why Her? from another Proverbs 31 author, Nicki Koziarz, at #21. Becoming a Welcoming Church by LifeWay Christian Resources president Thom Rainer is at #25. Another new book from Rainer on the need for churches to be welcoming, We Want You Here, is #35.

Jentezen Franklin returns to the bestsellers list with his new book, Love Like You’ve Never Been Hurt (Chosen Books) at #13, and Ann Voscamp’s latest title, The Way of Abundance(Zondervan) is #38.

In the Top 25 Fiction bestsellers list, the top four titles all appeared on the Top 50 overall bestsellers list. The Kremlin Conspiracy is the top selling fiction book, followed by The Masterpiece by Francine Rivers (Tyndale). If I Live, the newest title in Terri Blackstock’s mega-popular If I Run series (Zondervan), is #3, followed by The Shack by William Paul Young (Windblown Media) and the new release from Amy Clipston, An Amish Spring (Zondervan).  Overall, Francine Rivers, Terri Blackstock, and Amy Clipston each have three books in the Top 25 fiction bestsellers list.

Another debut title on the Top 25 Fiction list is Paul, Apostle of Christ by bestselling author Angela Hunt (Bethany House). Coming in at #18, this book is a novelization of the major motion picture, showing increasing influence of media on readers. I Can Only Imagine by Bart Millard (Thomas Nelson), which sits at #14 on the Top 25 nonfiction bestsellers list, is another current example of strong sales from a book tied to a move.

In our Top 25 Juvenile bestsellers list, Easter titles dominate, taking the top four spots. In fact, the top two books, God Gave Us Easter by Lisa Tawn Bergren (WaterBrook) and Story of Easter by Patricia A. Pingry (Worthy Kids/Ideals), appeared in USA Today’s Top 50 bestsellers list this past week.

Finally, the NIV Adventure Bible by Lawrence Richards (Zonderkidz) continues to sit atop the Top 25 bestselling Bibles list.
