EDITORIAL Dawn Anderson is associate editor at Kregel Publications, whose stated mission is to develop and distribute—with integrity and excellence—trusted, biblically based resources that lead individuals to know and serve Jesus Christ. To that end, she acquires and edits both fiction and nonfiction. A graduate of Cornerstone University with an English major and a psychology minor, Dawn has thoroughly enjoyed various aspects of book publishing, from typesetting to editing, in both religious and general markets, both on a freelance basis and in-house.
EDITORIAL Lydia Brownback is the author of several books, including her latest, A Woman's Wisdom: How the Book of Proverbs Speaks to Everything (Crossway, April 2012) and a speaker at women’s conferences internationally. When time allows, Lydia blogs at The Purple Cellar. She is director of editorial, book division, at Crossway, and formerly she worked as the writer-in-residence for Reverend Alistair Begg and as the broadcast media manager for Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, where she produced The Bible Study Hour radio program with James Montgomery Boice. Lydia holds degrees from Syracuse University and Westminster Theological Seminary.
PRODUCTION Jennifer Butenschoen serves as the director of production and digital content for Harvest House Publishers. She has worked in the publishing industry for more than 17 years and has a passion for effectively facilitating needed changes and strategies for the constantly changing publishing landscape. An early adopter working within the constraints of a traditional publishing environment, Jenn has been responsible for developing, facilitating, and implementing the company’s overall digital content strategy. She has extensive knowledge and experience in all facets of print and eBook production; overseeing the utilization of current technology in the development of new product lines while maintaining cost effectiveness. Jenn has developed many long-term and successful relationships with vendor partners in the US and overseas.
PRODUCTION John Camarano is a publishing professional with over 15 years of experience. John joined Aptara in March of 2010 bringing a wealth of knowledge in software and digital publishing practices. He currently leads a team of sales representatives who are focused on Digital Services for publishers. John is married with two children and lives just outside of Washington DC.
KEYNOTE Bob Carlton loves readers, writers & the digital world that is emerging around us. In his more than 25 years in publishing, Bob has been an author, an avid reader – as well as playing executive roles at the forefront of digital publishing. He was part of the launch team for CourseSmart, the leading e-book company in higher education, which was founded and supported by the five leading publishers.Carlton has also held senior positions with information providers and publishers such as Electronic Data Systems, WetFeet, News Corp, and Harcourt. Bob consults with large media companies, tech startups and authors on how to make the most of the transition in media formats and consumer opportunities. Bob Carlton is the Founder and Chief Storyteller at Cadabra Media.
RIGHTS & LICENSING Mark Carpenter is chairman and CEO of Mundo Cristão, one of Brazil's largest publishers of Christian books. He also serves as chairman of SmartBook/Nexo, a publishing house in Portugal, recently acquired by Mundo Cristão. Formerly an editor at Tyndale House, Mark was founding president of the Brazilian Association of Christian Publishers (ASEC). Mark also served as chairman of Media Associates International (Wheaton, IL), which provides training for publishers in developing countries, and has led workshops and seminars for writers and publishers in many international settings. Mark holds a BA from Bethel College, IN, and an MA from the Universidade de São Paulo. He has written children's books for publishers in the US and Denmark, and a regular column on art and culture for Ultimato magazine. Mark is married with three grown children, and lives in São Paulo.
Founded in 1965, Mundo Cristão has nearly tripled its annual revenue over the past three years, buoyed by Brazil's dynamic economy, the growth of the national Evangelical church, and a strategy to distribute outside of conventional channels for religious books. As part of its mission to reach readers of Portuguese wherever in the world they might be, it has recently acquired SmartBook/Nexo (Lisbon, Portugal), a well-regarded publisher of business and self-help products now introducing a line of books written from a Christian worldview. An ECPA member, Mundo Cristão is an independent, nondenominational publisher, established as a not-for-profit organization under Brazilian law, and publishes Bibles and trade books.

PRODUCTION Anne-Marie "Her Geekness" Concepción owns Chicago-based Seneca Design & Training, a cross-media publication design and production studio. She's a certified independent trainer and expert in Adobe InDesign and InCopy, and has helped hundreds of publishers learn how to create flowable and fixed EPUB files from InDesign since version CS4. RIGHTS & LICENSING Michael Covington is the Director of Digital Content for David C Cook. While working as a book buyer for an independent Christian retailer in 1993, Michael Covington sold his first Christian book before he had ever read one. Nearly 20 years later, he is responsible for the digital publishing strategy at David C Cook, an international non-profit dedicated to publishing and distributing Christ-centered resources (books, music and curriculum) to the Church around the world. As a bookstore manager for nearly a decade (1998-2006), Michael oversaw every aspect of running the small business, including a relocation and expansion of the store located in New Mexico (and still in operation today). After his time as a retailer, Michael spent five years with the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, responsible for all research-related initiatives, key strategic alliances and the development of ECPA's educational programs. Today, Michael's role as Director of Digital Content for David C Cook places him alongside the editorial, production and marketing teams for both the book and curriculum teams as they collectively create and implement strategies toward a future focused on the mobile Church.
MARKETING Tom Dean is a 25-year Christian publishing veteran, serving in sales, editorial and marketing roles with various companies. He has spent the last 11 years at Zondervan, first as Associate Publisher for Inspirio and more recently in Senior Marketing roles for Bibles and Books. In his current position as Senior Director of Marketing for Trade Books, he works with a host of long-term Zondervan authors as well as many new voices. Tom is passionate about creative marketing, running, strong coffee and of course, books. He and his wife Leslie have 3 amazing kids and live outside of Grand Rapids, MI.
RIGHTS & LICENSING Tom DeVries is the Subsidiary Rights Manager for Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He began working for Eerdmans in the warehouse while completing his MA from Calvin Theological Seminary, before moving into the brand-new, full-time Rights Manager position. In addition to Rights and Permissions he also works in numerous other areas including having worked with International Sales, and continuing to cover eCommerce and eBook Sales, as well as consulting on and writing author contracts.

Eisenstein provides advice and counsel to a wide variety of clients regarding interstate and international business legal issues, including direct marketers and other multi-state businesses. These issues include tax law, commercial transactions law, financing issues, strategic liaisons and partnerships, and promotional and other trade regulation issues. He also handles litigation regarding tax and trade regulation matters, including representation of amici curiae in the U.S. Supreme Court in important cases such as Quill v. North Dakota, 504 U.S. 298 (1992). Martin has spoken before various trade groups and the Maine State Bar Association, the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants, the International Mass Retailing Association, the Committee on State Taxation, the Promotional Marketing Association and the Direct Marketing Association. He is also the author of several publications regarding various tax topics that have appeared in State Tax Notes and the Journal of Multistate Taxation. Before founding the firm, he served as vice president of administration & general counsel of Multnomah Publishers. Previously, Brian practiced intellectual property and corporate law in the Portland, Oregon office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, a leading international media firm. Prior to moving to the west coast, Brian practiced with Troutman Sanders LLP in Atlanta, Georgia and served as adjunct instructor of intellectual property law at Clayton College & State University. He holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
EDITORIAL David Frees currently serves as the Digital Publisher for RBC Ministries where he oversees all global digital publishing efforts, is developing a Content Management Repository, and is constantly looking for new revenue channels and output formats that enhance Discovery House content to meet reader's needs and expectations. His background is in editing, acquisitions, writing, graphic design, and technology, and he has worked with other Christian publishers such as Baker Book House and Zondervan. He has a deep passion to learn new ways of incorporating technological trends into current publishing paradigms.
EDITORIAL Miranda Gardner is managing editor of Discovery House Publishers. Prior to Discovery House, she was associate editor with Kregel Publications. She graduated from Cornerstone University with a degree in English literature and is a member of a ten-year-old church plant in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.

With a strong background in all aspects of book manufacturing, Carter has held positions with Royal Book Manufacturing and The Maple-Vail Book Manufacturing Company prior to joining Ingram. As a result of publishing industry changes and changes within Ingram/Lightning Source, Mr. Holliday's sales responsibilities grew to include the e-book sales and distribution product offerings. Having grown up in Rhode Island and on the south shore of Boston, Carter is a graduate of Hobart College. RIGHTS & LICENSING Detlef Holtgrefe is president and publisher at Brunnen Verlag. Detlef Holtgrefe began his publishing career in 2000 at Brunnen Verlag, one of the largest evangelical book publishing companies in the German-speaking world. Since 2002 Detlef has been president and publisher of the company. He is married and has three children between the ages of 13 and 18. After his high school graduation Detlef trained as a joiner and cabinet maker, served with the military, and then studied theology. He served as a pastor for 7 years, during which time he was deputy editor-in-chief of a Christian magazine. Detlef is CEO of the ABCteam Publishers’ Cooperation which publishes the largest annual consumer catalog of Christian books in Germany. He is also president of the Association of Evangelical Booksellers and Publishers in Germany and a member of the Publishers’ Commission of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association which founded and owns the Frankfurt International Book Fair.
