Early Registration for Christian Book Expo Represents 23 Countries
Internationals Also Attend International Management Forum
03/13/2009, Phoenix, Arizona -- A first-ever Christian consumer book fair, the 2009 Christian Book Expo to be held March 20-22 at the Dallas Convention Center, is attracting early registrants from around the globe. Almost 50 registrations have been received from outside North America, representing 23 different countries to date. Contributing to this broad interest in Christian Book Expo is the Rights & Licensing Marketplace on the show floor and the International Management Forum, a separate but related event occurring on site the day before the Expo.
“International publishers were early advocates for the Christian Book Expo, so we’ve developed both training and connecting opportunities,” recalls Mark Kuyper, president of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA). “We’re committed to empowering international publishers and authors as we’re introducing consumers to the best Christian books available.”
The International Management Forum is a full-day training program held on March 19 immediately before the Christian Book Expo. The forum takes place at the Dallas Convention Center and is offered at no cost to publishers attending the Christian Book Expo. Five training sessions will be led by renowned international publishing consultants Robert Baensch (leading sessions on strategy, marketing, and finance), Peter Cunliffe (leading an operations session) and Dean Merrill (leading an editorial session).
The Rights & Licensing Marketplace on the Christian Book Expo show floor will feature U.S. publishers whose titles are available for licensing in other languages and formats. Exhibitor booths in this special marketplace include meeting space for international rights and licensing discussions.
The 2009 Christian Book Expo, a company of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA), is the first Christian book fair of its type, bringing together publishers, authors and consumers for a three-day book event. The inaugural Christian Book Expo will be held in Dallas, Texas, on March 20-22, 2009, at the Dallas Convention Center. Activities for all ages during the book fair include workshops, seminars, panel discussions, mini-events, KidZone, Bible History Experience and evening worship events—all led by authors. More than 200 authors and 65 exhibitors will be hosting the event.
