Helping Publishers Conquer the Slush Pile:
ECPA's Manuscript Submission Service Partners with BelieversPress.com to Edit, Critique, Vet Author Proposals

11/02/2009, Phoenix, AZ / Bloomington, MN -- Publishers face an enormous challenge, hunting through mountains of submissions to find the few that meet their editorial needs. Finding new voices in this environment can feel impossible. ChristianManuscriptSubmissions.com (CMS), a program of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA), is the only proposal submission website designed at the request of the top Christian publishers to provide a solution to these problems. In collaboration with ECPA, BelieversPress (a subsidiary of Bethany Press International) is pleased to offer authors the opportunity to have their proposals professionally critiqued and edited before submission on the CMS website for viewing by Christian publishers. These proposals will feature a BelieversPress badge enabling publishers to easily find these high quality submissions. Badges will reflect what proposals have been critiqued, edited and endorsed.

Under the BelieversPress banner, D.C. Jacobson and Associates (DCJA – founded by Don Jacobsen, former Multnomah publisher) will provide this critique, edit and endorsement service. DCJA’s 70 years of experience and contribution to more than 1,000 published titles including numerous bestsellers and award-winners ensures that each BelieversPress-badged proposal can be trusted to deliver a high level of professional quality.

“In this difficult market, proposals need to shine and be endorsed by a trusted and credible source in order to rise above the crowd," states ECPA President Mark Kuyper. "We are pleased to partner with the professionals at BelieversPress to provide a way for publishers to identify good proposals and to add additional value for authors who seek to be published."

BelieversPress is a new cooperative venture of Bethany Press, where 18 Christian publishing professionals gathered to create an alternative to the traditional self-publishing model. BelieversPress founder John DePree explains, "We exist for this simple reason — to provide Christian authors an experienced team to help them successfully navigate their publishing future. Each BelieversPress professional is a committed Christian who is here to help authors determine the best approach to their publishing goals. Publishers can be confident referring authors to BelieversPress.”
