ECPA Launches “ECPA Title Management Web”
New Project Simplifies the Sharing of Bibliographic Info with Retail Partners
02/20/2008, -- The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association announces ECPA Title Management Web, a web-based program which provides publishers’ bibliographic information to more than 80 participating retailers and distributors. The new program allows publishers to control and communicate their bibliographic information (such as release dates, prices, marketing copy, author biographies and book images) quickly and cost effectively.
ECPA Title Management Web is a new partnership with Quality Solutions, Inc. (QSI), the leader in publishing information management systems. QSI distributes publishers’ bibliographic data to more than 80 partners, such as Ingram, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Baker & Taylor, and Bowker, in the exact specification and format requested by each partner. Previously, publishers provided the same information repeatedly, in a variety of formats, to meet the unique needs of each retail partner. ECPA Title Management Web allows publishers to upload bibliographic information just one time to effectively meet the needs of dozens of key partners—drastically reducing wasted time, efforts, and costs.
The cost of ECPA Title Management Web for an ECPA member publisher will depend upon the number of titles submitted and the number of partners included. Regardless of their level of participation, all ECPA members receive a 10% discount off the normal QSI rate.
“This is a direct bottom-line benefit for our members,” says Michael Covington, Information & Education Director for ECPA. “This service can dramatically streamline the way publishers communicate timely information about the books they publish. Members never have to worry again about sending the right information in the right format to the right distributor at the right time!”
This new program will hit the ground running with three ECPA member houses already using the service: Moody Publishers, Standard Publishing, and Gospel Light. According to Judy Tollberg, Director of Product Management for Moody, “We have been using the QSI Eloquence system for almost two years and have found it to be extremely helpful in getting data to our trading partners both accurately and efficiently. Their customer service has been excellent. Our partnership with QSI has been well worth our investment.”
QSI President Fran Toolan adds, “We are excited about this relationship with ECPA and are confident that the ECPA Title Management Web service will provide a great benefit to ECPA’s members.”
