ECPA Resource Center | COVID-19 Crisis

Staying connected as Christian publishers is more important than ever. Sharing knowledge, best practices and innovation with each other will help our industry navigate through this unprecedented time.

A Message from Stan Jantz, ECPA President and CEO

As your Association, our mandate is simple: to help our Christian publishing community be informed so that they can make decisions to stay ahead of the curve. We have set up this Resource Center so you can discover what your fellow member publishers and industry service providers are doing to cope with the unusual circumstances around us.

This page will include resources, news, and updates from members that can help inform your business decisions in these coming days.  The more we can learn from each other, the stronger the Christian publishing industry will become.

Let us be encouragers to one another as well. Undergirding all of our efforts is something that can’t be measured, and that’s prayer. We are unified by our common mission to make the Christian message more widely known, so let us pray for all that goes into that mission. Let’s pray for everyone’s health and safety. Let’s pray for the economic well-being of our industry. And most of all, let’s pray that we as leaders in the business and ministry of Christian publishing will continue to seek God and trust His plan for us through all of this.

Paul’s words to the church in Galatia seem especially fitting for us today:  So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. (Galatians 6:9-10. NLT)

ECPA hosts webcast with international publishing and bookselling community

The Experience New Dedication (END) Conference was held on April 30, 2020 at 8 am central, gathering publishers and booksellers from all over the world who are partners in the vision to publish and distribute the Good News of the Gospel.  Chris Johnsen (Christian Art SA), Mark Taylor (Tyndale House Publishers), and Stan Jantz (ECPA) hosted this gathering to encourage and pray for our global industry.  Bestselling author of The Power of Praying® series, Stormie Omartian then closed our time with prayer.

Now’s the time to support this important channel by shopping online from your favorite Christian retailer!

The Parable Group:
The Parable Group has developed a web page with resources for Christian retailers, including a summary of publishers’ contributions during this time.

We are keeping this updated daily as we gather more information:

>> The Parable Group provides Back to the Bookstore Retail Toolkit for post COVID-19 times

The Munce Group:
The Munce Group stores, as well as other independent Christian bookstores, are being very creative during this time. They are using social media to stay in touch with their customers, bringing them hope and encouragement through God’s promises. They are offering curbside delivery and home delivery, plus mailing product to consumers. With Amazon now prioritizing necessity-only items, this creates a great opportunity for them, even though this will not make up the lost sales over the past few weeks. Most of our stores do have an online presence, but they would prefer to sell from their physical stores.  If publishers are providing resources for consumers, please let us know. We are keeping our stores informed about these specials so they can notify their customers via email, social media, etc. The Munce Group is also keeping the stores informed about what the government has to offer small businesses for both during and after this time.

LifeWay remains open and available to serve during COVID-19 crisis. With the local, national, and global situation shifting rapidly, we will keep our COVID-19 Resource Page up-to-date with current information if any changes occur. We believe that the Lord is good and faithful to His children, and we are eager to stand next to you in faithful ministry.
