Ellen Hsu is the Rights Manager at InterVarsity Press where she has worked with subsidiary rights since 1997. Ellen is also a board member for the Licensing and Subsidiary Rights Association.


SESSION 1  Acquiring Publishing Rights for a Global Market

Through an interactive discussion with Stan facilitated by Brian, attendees will learn how acquisition terms affect title profitability, publishing for a global market, subsidiary rights licensing and digital distribution. Stan Gundry, Senior VP and Editor-in-Chief at Zondervan, is an influential figure in publishing with years of experience as an editor, author and adjunct professor. Brian Flagler, Managing Partner at Flagler Law Group, has extensive experience with contracts and legal issues that affect Christian publishing.

Skott speaks regularly at publishing industry events on topics including copyright, technology, and disruption in the ebook marketplace.

Explore the Korean, Spanish and Arabic language markets with knowledgeable leaders. This 90-minute session will include information on how the economy is affecting publishing in these markets, which topics are most in demand and how you can improve your relationship with publishers in these three important markets. We will learn from the knowledge and expertise of Hosung Maeng, president of rMaeng2, Tito Mantilla, director of Editorial Portavoz, and Sinan Sweis, director of Ophir Publishers in Jordan.
