VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKET DEVELOPMENT (Outreach and Education)

We help more than a million Jews in need each year and as our Vice President of Marketing, you’ll develop and implement strategies that will allow us to help even more.

Developing and continuing the bridge building efforts with the Evangelical Christian market and other partners is where you will focus through outreach, marketing, and education initiatives in target markets.  As part of our leadership team, your expert business development talents will be used to assess new markets, programs, and partnership opportunities that will continue to support Israel and The Fellowship’s mission.

 

Key areas of responsibility include:

 

  • Developing and implementing short and long-term marketing goals and strategies for education and outreach that will garnish support for The Fellowship’s mission in various communities in the US (i.e. churches, Hispanic communities, seminaries, colleges, Korea, and tourism )

  • Developing specific strategies and identify key messaging, and opportunities to reach the next generation of Christian supporters

  • Pursuing opportunities that will expand The Fellowship’s reach and visibility in these markets

  • Utilizing current expertise within diverse communities to lead needs assessments and to respond to educational needs of audience groups related to advocacy and understanding of Israel and the Jewish roots of Christianity

  • Cultivating relationships with community, religious, and educational institution leaders to build ongoing support for The Fellowship and for Israel.  Identifying opportunities for new key strategic partnerships

  • Serving as the leader, mentor, and manager of the market development team, setting them up for success, and providing essential information and feedback

  • Collaborating closely with VP of Integrated Fundraising on messaging, positioning, value proposition and overall Fellowship brand strategy

  • Managing department planning, budgeting and spending.  Developing metrics and actively monitor progress and update strategies and programs as necessary

 

The ideal candidate will have at least the following experience and abilities:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Business, Non-Profit Management, or related field or equivalent experience.  Master’s preferred

  • Some theological or seminary training a plus

  • Minimum of 15 years of measurable success in assessing and developing new markets through education and marketing efforts in positions of increasing responsibility.  This should include successful strategy setting, budgeting, implementation, continuous advancement of such strategies, and measurable outcomes.  Experience should also include at least 5 years at the senior management level

  • Experience with multiple multi-national, donor-financed charities

  • Knowledge of both Jewish and Christian beliefs

  • Knowledge of planning, finance, budgeting, and database systems/ software.

  • Understanding of online curriculum development and implementation

  • Experience leading outreach or program development as well as associated marketing plans.

  • Proven ability to build relationships and passion for mission-driven organizations.  Previous success in transitioning these relationships into mutually beneficial partnerships

  • Experience with product development and marketing these products for use in sustaining current markets and advancing efforts to new markets

  • Previous experience in a faith-based and/ or humanitarian organization

  • Curriculum development experience is a plus, especially in the Christian arena

  • Strong commitment to the mission and vision of The Fellowship with the ability to serve as a strong, compelling ambassador for the organization.  Very strong knowledge of the Evangelical Christian market along with an understanding of Jewish tenets desired as well.  Respectful of differing faith traditions, especially Christian and Jewish, with the ability to empathize with the strongly held religious and/or political belief systems of both.  Strong understanding of issues related to Israel and the Middle East

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with external partners and stakeholders

  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with staff, donors, prospects, religious leaders, and other business and higher education leaders/public figures.  Must have strong written, oral, and listening skills along with exceptional presentation skills for a variety of audiences

  • Strong, effective, team-oriented leader and a thoughtful, diplomatic mentor.  Ability to inspire tangible, timely, and accurate results from direct reports

  • Ability to identify measurable outcomes and utilize strong analytical skills to maximize ROI for each market

  • Ability to work effectively with members of a senior leadership team, including board members and other high-level supporters

  • Strong attention to detail.  Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines simultaneously.  Ability to adapt quickly to change

  • Ability to report information in a concise and up-to-date manner
