Currently, we are seeking a Digital Content Specialist to join of team in Grand Rapids, Michigan (relocation assistance may be provided) to help support our Mission and Beliefs (

Working with the Director of Communications and collaboratively with others, the Digital Content Specialist will update, maintain and create digital content in alignment with an overarching communication strategy. This position requires a motivated, self-starter who can work independently, manage projects, and enjoys measuring the success of the team’s efforts, while exploring and identifying opportunities to further the organization’s message. 

Our Digital Content Specialist’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage and execute the daily editing and production of content through our Content Management System (CMS) Wordpress
  • Under the direction of the Director of Communications, work collaboratively with fundraising team to identify what messaging resonates with target audiences and then translate this into succinct digital copy and assets, including print pieces, emails, and more
  • Manage and grow social media presence, increasing engagement through written and visual storytelling
  • Implement the email strategy, including the dissemination of content and in line with organizational objectives
  • Help drive Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy, such as reviewing and editing content to ensure effective SEO with Search Engine Marketing (SEM) best practices
  • Supervise Student Editorial Intern

We are looking for a Digital Content Specialist who embodies the BioLogos vision of communicating in humility, truth, and grace, celebrating Christian unity while sharing the best of modern science with the church.  To be a successful Digital Content Specialist, we believe candidates will need the following:

  • Genuine interest in the science and religion conversation, knowledge of some of the topics and voices relevant to the BioLogos Mission, in addition to a personal commitment to the faith perspective and Mission of BioLogos –required
  • 3+ years’ experience in digital communications and relevant tactics, including carrying out multi-channel communication strategy –required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or relevant field –required
  • 2+ years' experience using Content Management Systems (CMS)–required, preferably Wordpress
  • Ability to travel up to 3 times annually for events and conferences – required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong editing, grammar and proofreading skills, with knowledge of AP Style and digital trends –required
  • Relentless attention to details and timelines with ability to problem-solve along the way – required
  • Email Marketing Automation tools proficiency– required, preferably Mailchimp
  • Technical proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Photoshop, MS Office, Google Suite, and Dropbox–required
  • Google Analytics (SEO and SEM) proficiency– required
  • HTML proficiency–required
  • Social Media proficiency– required, preferably Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
