Responsibilities

 

This position will oversee all title marketing within the marketing team. Supervisory responsibilities include managing a team of two other book marketing managers and an audience development manager to represent all frontlist and repack title marketing. Additionally, this person will focus on developing and implementing brand strategies and executing marketing campaigns for Moody Publishers’ brands and several major authors, including The Five Love Languages®, A.W. Tozer, and more. This position serves on the marketing team which, together with the sales and acquisitions teams, owns the responsibility to achieve title sales goals and top and bottom line revenue goals.

  • This position will oversee frontlist and backlist title marketing, including supervising and coordinating the activities of two book marketing managers and an audience development manager.
  • Research and track market trends and develop and implement brand strategies to increase brand awareness, product sales, and market share.
  • Direct the planning and execution of marketing plans to drive discoverability and sales of Moody Publishers titles and authors. This will be achieved through ongoing collaboration with the acquisitions and the sales teams to develop, implement, and measure tactical plans ensuring titles reach their intended audiences and profitably attain 20,000 units in the first two years. Such plans may include sales channel tactics, author websites and landing pages, direct mail, digital and social media communications, advertising, publicity, conferences, conventions, and so on.
  • Participate in weekly Spirit-filled room meetings to provide audience insights and marketing knowledge to support and drive discoverability and sales of Moody Publishers titles and authors. Regularly report/share results to support group learning and effectiveness.
  • Lead marketing meetings to coordinate planning and guarantee the execution of plans. Utilize agile marketing tactics – assess, test, measure, refine – to ensure that we’re using the right marketing tactics to reach the right audience at the right time.
  • Understand existing and develop new access points to audience networks and leaders. Support acquisition editors’ duties by sharing market trends and reader insights.
  • Assist in budget planning and oversight of spending on book marketing campaigns.
  • Work with the conference manager to determine which conferences we should be attending: 1. to reach our target audiences, 2. to increase promotions of our books and authors, and 3. to sell our books at the conferences. Develop and execute all marketing collateral, and with the conference manager assess and analyze the success of each event.
  • Ensure that all necessary metadata is available in PPM before scheduled due dates.
  • Ensure that the sales team has all necessary support materials to sell into channels.
  • Perform related and special duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in marketing, communications, business, or related.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in marketing, brand management, or consumer-facing engagement.
  • A minimum of two years of marketing team managerial experience.
  • Proactive and results-driven. Understands the value of and how to measure and analyze data.
  • Outstanding computer skills and digital marketing analytics – Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, SEO, Facebook and other social analytics.
  • Proven understanding of audience identification and engagement. Creative thinker with a drive to know, love, and serve readers well.
  • Committed to Moody Publishers’ vision and mission.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong communication and writing skills; digitally savvy.
  • Ability to travel.

Preferred Requirements

  • MBA or master’s degree in marketing or communications.
  • Theologically strong and spirit-led leader.
  • Ability to anticipate needs.

  • Able to develop and manage revenue and financial budgets.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
