Position: Marketing Associate
Reports To: Marketing Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION

 

 
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Support the Marketing Manager with marketing functions at Bethany House nonfiction and Chosen Books.

 

 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Propose ad campaigns for each BHP nonfiction and Chosen title to optimize budgets and increase market impact. This includes evaluating appropriate print and digital advertising opportunities, understanding readership and reach, establishing relationships with outlet representatives and working toward their specifications and deadlines, delivering ads to outlets on-time and on-budget.
Schedule and maintain social media platforms using Sprout Social. This includes ongoing book postings, as well as updating the BHP nonfiction and Chosen accounts.
Professionally, consistently interact with authors one-on-one, making requests, taking requests, and following through with candor and grace.
Create and administrate Amazon ads, Facebook ads, Google AdWord campaigns.
Act as the primary point person between marketing and design departments. This includes initiating workflow for each title-specific copywriting and design request, directing and tracking projects through approvals to completion.
Manage creation to fulfillment for author-requested collateral/promotional materials.
Recommend, prepare, and update monthly web banner ads for the Baker Publishing Group, Chosen, and BHP websites.
Prepare marketing overview documents and participate in regular and ad hoc author calls.
Prepare for and participate in regularly scheduled publication board and marketing and positioning meetings.
Gather data for and announce final Chosen titles for every catalog.
Track and process invoices and reconcile with department and corporate finance.
Enter marketing and publicity notes and strategies into databases.
Work in tandem with the publicist and marketing and publicity assistant to deliver high-quality work and provide a cohesive author experience.
Develop understanding of the Christian publishing industry. Interact on author platforms. Familiarize self with author messages and market trends.
Attend regular company, department, and 1:1 manager meetings.

 

 
 
QUALIFICATIONS
4-year degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or related field
2-3 years’ experience in advertising: campaign proposals, ad buying, social media marketing
Exemplary people and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Able to prioritize deliverables in time-sensitive, high-pressure environment
Understanding of or aptitude for web-based business solution platforms including but not limited to:
 
o Microsoft Office Suite
o Sprout Social
o Citrix
o FileMaker Pro
o MediusFlow
o MailChimp
o YouVersion
o SendPro
o NetGalley
